With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Patrick Joseph Silovich, age 71. He left this world peacefully, surrounded by family on June 3, 2025, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. While we are shocked and deeply saddened, we are grateful to share his story with you.

Pat was born November 9, 1953, to Joseph and Vivian (Barker) Silovich in Benson, MN. The family lived in several small Minnesota and North Dakota towns before settling in Audubon, where he graduated high school in 1971. Joining the Air Force in 1973, Pat served as an Air Traffic Controller at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base near Marquette, Michigan. Following his service to our country, he became a Registered Nurse, eventually earning a Bachelor of Nursing Degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

In 1978, Pat met the love of his life, Cindy (Cynthia) Lee, in Fargo ND. They married in 1979 and were later blessed with daughter Colee (Nicole Lee) and son Luke (Patrick Lukas). Family meant everything to Pat and he cherished every moment with each and every one of them. He was known by all for his kind heart, creative touch and unwavering friendship.

Pat worked as a Pediatric Oncology RN at St. Luke's/Meritcare Clinic in Fargo, ND. He was instrumental in the opening of the Roger Maris Cancer Center and served on the Board of the Ronald McDonald House. As his children were growing up, he was a volunteer coach for their basketball, football and baseball teams. Summers were filled with happy times of family camping and fishing on Minnesota lakes.

In 2008, Pat and Cindy moved to the Twin Cities, to be closer to Colee and Luke. With a love for lake life, they set roots in Forest Lake, where they embraced their many friends and the community. Their family grew with the marriage of Colee to John Bean and Luke to Shumona Saha. He and Cindy were further blessed with four precious grandchildren, their pride and joy, AJ and Danielle Bean, Varun and Ela Silovich.

Pat worked at the Masonic Cancer Center (Minneapolis) and Fairview Lakes Wyoming Infusion Center. Through his work in Fargo, Minneapolis and Wyoming, he touched the lives of thousands of patients and families in their most trying times, giving them comfort, healing and hope. He was also a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.

In retirement, Pat served on the Forest Lake American Legion Executive Board and was current Commander of American Legion Post 225. He was extremely dedicated and took great pride in every event and activity. Pat treasured the friendships he made there with those who served our country and those who serve our veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cindy Silovich; daughter, Colee (John) Bean; son, Luke (Shumona) Silovich; grandchildren, AJ and Danielle Bean, Varun and Ela Silovich; brother, Mike (Robin) Silovich; sisters, Mary Jo (John) Abbott and Kathy (Tim) Buggy; sister-in-law, Pam (Jeff) Petrik; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Silovich, Vivian (Ron) Lee; grandparents, Mike and Milka Silovich, and Claire and Verna Barker.

Pat's Celebration of Life will be Friday, June 13 at Forest Lake American Legion Post 225 with a gathering at 10:00 am, a service at 12:00 pm and a luncheon following. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Snelling on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made in his name to the Forest Lake American Legion Post 225 or the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND.
