Sure sad Paddy did not get the chance to play overtime, which he would have loved.
One who left his tracks wherever he travelled. It was a pleasure to have served with him.

Paddy was an usher at my wedding in 73 but we only re-started communicating by email about 6 months before he discovered his illness. The joy he expressed in living (especially more recently,in retirement)was inspiringly matched by the courage and strength he displayed in facing the tumour, always seeming grateful for the opportunity to say hello and being so thankful for the prayers and telephone calls of his many friends.
My sincere condolences to Sylvia and Derrick and Kevin and your families. God bless !

There is much to admire about the way Paddy lived his life. He was a special person. He’ll be greatly missed and fondly thought of by many.
My heartfelt condolences to Sylvia and all the family including Derrick and Rosemary.

I had the pleasure of assisting my big brother, Doug, during two years of coaching the RMC football teams. Those two years included interfacing with Pat at times. Pat, along with so many other players on those teams, is a face and personality I shall long remember. Pat particularly for his calm demeanour and sense of humour running close to the surface. Two qualities which I'm certain went on to compliment him well in his service to his country. Pat was not only an admirable football player; but an admirable person. My deepest regrets to his family and loved ones.

I remember Pat specifically for two occasions when our paths crossed. The first occured when he expressed deep concern about his future as a pilot because of his tendancy towards air sickness...we were walking off the practise field at RMC at the time, and he was still a young cadet. The second was a flight in a Tudor while he was OC flying at Moose Jaw...a long way from the RMC practise field, and in the midst of a glorious flying career. Thanks for that Pat...we'll have a run for you on the mountain this winter.
You were truly an officer and a gentleman.

I too served with Pat at Staff College and grew to know him as a true professional and good friend. Deeply saddened to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I had the good fortune to spend about a year with Paddy when we attended the Canadian Forces Staff College in Toronto in 1979/80 and were in the same home syndicate. He was a great classmate and friend and looked forward to returning to his other love - flying.
To Sylvia and the rest of Pat's family, please accept my sincere condolences on Pat's passing; I'm sure he's "up there" soaring with the eagles on an endless flight.

It was a long and fruitful journey, my friend, but not long enough. You flew in the wild blue yonder, but with both feet planted firmly on the ground. You will be sorely missed.
