To the Tierney Family:
Jim and Bry, I never have had the opportunity to meet any of your children. I can only presume that they are as kind and thoughtful as you two! I am deeply saddened for you in this loss and want you to know that you have my deepest sympathy. The thoughts and prayers of my family and I are with you!

Although I never had a opportunity to meet Patrick, I have known his father for many years. His father is one of the finest men I have ever known and I'm sure Patrick was a treasure. I'm sure I can't imagine the grief the family must have, but I'm also sure that the Tierney's are a strong family and their family will guide them through these times. You all have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Tierney Family,
I heard about Patrick and it is with sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes that I write this message. It is so difficult to understand that which we do not know. It is so easy to understand that which we know, and I know Patrick as a thoroughly enjoyable young man who brought smiles to all who knew him. I see him with his friends - laughing. I see a young man who brought so much to others. Know that those who were fortunate to know Pat and watch him had their lives enriched by the experience. I shall think of Pat, his friends, and his family and know that they have many memories which delight, instruct, and comfort. My thoughts are with you.

To the Tierney Family,
Pat was the most amazing person and I am very lucky to have had the privilege to be such good friends with him. Pat was the person to put a smile on your face and joy in your heart. I know for a fact that I am a better person because of him. My life is filled with laughs and smiles, thanks Pat. He is loved and remembered by many and will be in our hearts forever. Keep it real Pat.

I did not know Pat well, I had only hung out with a few times.
What I did know about him though, is how happy he made people. I can see through Sarah, Conor, Andrew, Jared, and so many others how great he was. I have so much pain for them, yet joy that they were so honored to have Pat in their lives. I know he will live forever in not only his friend's and family's hearts, but in everyone else's he touched.

Dear Tierney Family~
I pray for you and Pat every day hoping that God will give your family a sense of peace. Pat will never be gone to me, and I am positive that everyone there at his funeral feels the same way. Pat helped me a great deal along with others during my time of need, I will never forget that. I find myself watching Audrey Hootman's and my 14th birthday party video all the time and laughing out loud at Pat and how funny he was in it. I will never forget about Pat, I will always pray for him and i will keep praying for you and your family.

Dear Tierney Family,
I taught Pat math in seventh grade at Hadley. I can vividly remember seeing his smiling face during third period each day. He was a wonderful student, the kind that every teacher enjoys. I have become a parent myself since teaching Pat, and send my prayers to you. May the wonderful words said about Pat at his mass, and the great number of people who attended, be a comfort to you always.
Sincerely,
Tami Allen

Now I didn't know Patrick very well, but I also was lucky enough to have Advanced Health class with him last year. From in and outside of class, I saw the caring and wonderful person that he was. His group of friends are all very special and amazing people. I know there is an angel looking down on you from heaven right now. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Tierney,
Words are hard to find to tell you my thoughts on Pat's passing. I prefer to share memories. Pat was always positive in fifth grade. Whether he was staring in a "Peanuts" production or trying to break a record in gym. I can still see him sitting in the tub reading and telling everyone he was going to be a doctor someday. He was everyone's best friend. He and his friends helped me out many times but one I remember vividly when I was in need of help for a project, they came back to Franklin for a "photo" shot so I could submit "Fractal Twister". I can see his smiling face at the ARb and other trips. Thank you for sharing him with me and so many others.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Tierney and Family:
As a parent to another parent, I want so much to be able to somehow offer words of comfort to you during this painful time. I have written and re-written a short message to you, and I'm afraid that each time I have fallen extremely short in my efforts. It is difficult to know how to express how very sorry I am for your loss. I do hope you are able to take comfort in knowing that many people are praying for you, and will continue to do so in the days to come. I have memories of Pat when I worked in the office at Hadley and also of the time he came to our house for a birthday party, or just to watch a movie with the other kids. I also remember his kindness and sensitivity to my daughter Kaitlin when she was struggling with her illness. I remember how much the words Pat expressed to her meant to her, and to me. He will be so missed by the kids and their class will never forget him. I believe no parent could be prepared to handle this kind of a loss. I am certain this is where faith comes in. I will be praying that your faith gets you through. May you find comfort in knowing that Patrick is in the arms of angels. God be with you.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Tierney and family,
I had the privilege of being Patrick's Language Arts teacher in seventh grade at Hadley Jr. High. Patrick was delightful student, but he was also a member of a regular lunchtime group that used to meet in my classroom to talk and play "UNO."
Although my heart aches at the thought that Patrick is no longer with us, I will hold fast to him in my memory as long as I have children to teach.

Mr. and Mrs. Tierney,
I was terribly saddened when I heard of Pat's passing. Please take what comfort you can in knowing that when Pat was at Hadley, in my Symphonic Band, he was a real asset and a joy to teach. I will always remember his hard work and dedication. He was a member of the 2000 Honor Band selected by the Superstate Festival. I will always remember that band and Pat's contribution, they were both very special to me.
With deepest sympathy,

It would be so much better if the Lacey's could convey our sympathies in person. But at the very least, in this seemingly impersonal format, we send our most heartfelt condolences.
We knew young Patrick and enjoyed his company for many summers throughout the years, in northern Michigan. We always thought a great deal of Patrick and will best remember him for how kind and respectful he was. Patrick was a fortunate child to have such a loving family.
Jim, Bryann, Lauren and Kerry, please know that we share your sense of loss and grief. Our thoughts and endless prayers are with you.
May God Bless,
Duggan, Mary, Caitlin and Margaret Grace
