Patsy Jo “Pat” Warner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 26, 2024.
Patsy Jo "Pat" Allen Warner, age 92, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on September 23, 2024. She was a beloved daughter and sister, loving mother and grandmother, loyal friend and mentor to many. Pat was born on December 4, 1931, in Zenoria, Louisiana, to Richard Edward and Daisy Branch Allen. She grew up in Winnfield, Louisiana and graduated from Winnfield High School.

Pat enjoyed traveling the world, experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. She loved spending time with her family and friends sharing stories and laughing. She was an avid game player and sports fan who loved cheering on her favorite sports teams...especially the LSU Tigers!

Pat spent most of her career working for the City of Bossier, retiring as the Comptroller after 29 years. She was known for her fun and compassionate management style that was balanced by a strong sense of accountability. She valued her time at the City, forming lasting friendships with the people there. Pat also served as the Plan Administrator for the Bossier City Fire and Police Pension Funds for many years.

Pat was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Shreveport where she joined the Naomi Sunday School class. She was also involved in the Bossier City Lions Club as well as the Southern Literary Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Grey) Stinson of Denton, Texas; her son, David Warner of Dallas, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Patti Warner of Haughton, Louisiana; Grandchildren: Stephanie (Jon) Worley, Jonathon Warner, Lauren (Sam) Ray, Michael Osborne and Jordan (Matt) Ford; Great Grandchildren: Cassidy (Jordan) Willis, Devon Warner, Jonathon Warner, Jr., DawnMarie Warner, Rowan Ray and Kathleen Ray; and Great Great Grandchild: Carter Sellars; and many very special nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her three beautiful sisters: Nelwyn "Nel" Luttrell, Jacqueline "Jackie" Ahern and Elizabeth "Ann" Santelli; the love of her life, John William Warner and her son, John Richard Warner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 2nd at 3 p.m. in Frost Chapel at First Baptist Church of Shreveport, located at 543 Ockley Drive. There will be a visitation with the family at 2 p.m. in the parlor prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Baptist Church of Shreveport. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to the staff at Windsor House in Denton, Texas and Angel Hands Hospice for their tender loving care of our mother in her final stage of life.

My first memory of Miss Patsy is her beautiful singing that always lit the spirits of the other residents at Windsor House. She would sing with such a bold and beautiful voice. I loved when I´d ask... How ya feeling Miss Patsy and she´d reply, "not bad for an old woman". Miss Patsy shared energy, joy and love everyday regardless of the situation. Her presence will truly be missed.

Love,

Pat Nixon (Windsor House)

Kim, I'm so sorry to read about your mom's passing, but glad her earthly struggle has ended. She certainly had a wonderful and full life. What a comfort to know she is now in the presence of Jesus.
