Patsy G. McLeod

            Patricia Gore "Patsy" McLeod, 78, died August 16, in her home in Florence, SC. Her final days were spent surrounded by her adoring family members and special friends.

            Mrs. McLeod was born July 15, 1944 in Florence, SC to Fannie Frye and Thomas Fletcher Gore. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and a sister.

            She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank Hilton McLeod, IV; a daughter, Sloan McLeod Cormell; and a son, Frank Hilton McLeod, V. Gaga is also survived by her five grandchildren: Fletcher Bateman Strait (Jacob), Thomas McLendon Bateman, Jr., Dargan Elizabeth Bateman, Frank McLeod Bateman and Elinor Rose McLeod. She also leaves behind four loving siblings:  Miriam Gore Culberson, Betty Gore Grimsley, Richard Howard Gore (MaryAnn), and Peggy Gore Knight (Rick). Her many nieces, nephews, and special friends also join the long list of those who mourn her loss and celebrate her life.

           Mrs. McLeod was a devoted member of Central United Church. For 50+ years, she attended services and served as a long-term member of the church’s worship committee. She also served by coordinating weddings and funerals for many members of her community and church family. Mrs. McLeod made an impression on all she touched, both in her volunteer roles and in her professional role at Mount Hope Cemetery.

           The funeral service will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Florence on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery will follow the service.

           In lieu of flowers, Patsy’s family asks that memorials be made to the HOPE Fund, an organization that supports oncology patients in all areas of their treatment and healing.
