Abilene - July 25, 1945 - October 15, 2025

Patsy Ann (Hunt) Newman, 80, of Abilene, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in Abilene, Texas. She was born on July 25, 1945, in Ranger, Texas, one of seven children of Jack and Tommie Gean Hunt.

Patsy worked for many years at Dos Amigos in Abilene, where she made countless friends and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Her warm personality, quick wit, and caring nature made her a favorite among coworkers and customers alike.

She is survived by her son, Michael Weldon Newman of Abilene; two grandchildren, Dylan Newman and his wife Jessica, and Blaze Newman, both of Abilene; and two great-grandchildren, Stetson Newman and Roper Newman, also of Abilene. Patsy is also survived by her sisters, Darlene Luttrell (Keith) of Abilene, Teri Jenschke (Steve) of Kerrville, and Carla Brown (Scott) of Wadesboro, North Carolina; and her brothers, Billy Hunt (Beverly) of Abilene and Freddy Hunt (Linda) of Merkel. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

A special place in Patsy's heart belonged to Jennifer Smith, who remained a close and loving part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Tommie Gean Hunt; one sister, Jackie Oates; Jackie's husband, James Oates; and her nephew, Monty Oates.

Patsy is now in the arms of Jesus - pain free and celebrating with her parents and the many loved ones who went before her.

Services will be 2 PM Saturday November 15th at Girdner Funeral Home in Abilene. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas, or to your favorite charity.
