Patsy Patrick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 17, 2025.
Patsy Ann Patrick (McMurtrey), age 82, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Newnan, Georgia. Born on April 10, 1943, in West Plains, Missouri, Patsy lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and the joy she found in everyday beauty.

Patsy was the daughter of Amos and Olivia McMurtrey and grew up in Republic Missouri alongside her siblings. She graduated from Republic High School and went on to attend Missouri State University. Her early years laid the foundation for a life filled with compassion and service. Patsy dedicated much of her professional life to the nursing and health care field, where her nurturing spirit touched many lives.

She married Richard Clark on August 12, 1966 -1981, and later married Steve Patrick in 1981-2009. Throughout her life, Patsy remained a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family was unwavering.

Patsy is lovingly remembered by her daughter Amy and son-in-law Chad Haskins of Grantville, Georgia, along with their children Logan and Evan; and by her son Matthew and daughter-in-law Tara Clark of Sedalia, Missouri, and their children Keegan, Emma, Elliot, Addison, and Miles. She also leaves behind her sister Jane and brother-in-law Roy Green of Springfield, Missouri; their children Carol Green of Orlando, Florida and her son Matthew; Sarah and Curtis Jones of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and their children Joshua and Olivia; her brother Alan and sister-in-law Debbie McMurtrey of Billings, Missouri and their son Andy McMurtrey; Patsy's niece Lisa Beatty of Overland Park, Kansas and also many other cherished relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Amos and Olivia McMurtrey, her sister Rosemary, brother-in-law Bob Otte, and their son-in-law Terry Beatty of Overland Park, Kansas.

Patsy's vibrant spirit was evident to all who knew her. She never met a stranger-her warmth drew people in-and she delighted in sharing God's love with everyone she encountered. Her faith was central to her life; she found great comfort in reading the Bible and lived out its teachings through kindness and generosity.

Her passions were as colorful as they were heartfelt. Patsy had an eye for beauty-she expressed herself through fashion and design with remarkable creativity. Whether collecting antiques or decorating on a budget, she had an exceptional talent for making anything look beautiful. She loved cooking for those she cared about and treasured good conversation that brought people closer together.

A celebration of Patsy's life will be held at Chesterfield Family Center 2511 W. Republic Rd., Springfield, Mo. 65807 on July 7, 2025 from 3:30-5pm, among family members and friends who continue to carry forward the light she brought into their lives.

May Patsy's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well-lived in faith, love, and grace.
