Patsy Ruth Shaw

Patsy Ruth Shaw (Pat), 92 of Van Alstyne, TX went home to Jesus on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was born on July 28, 1931, to John Wesley and Nancy Valentine Phillips in Sherman, TX. She was their only child; however, her parents also raised her cousin Max Elliott, whom she loved like a brother. Pat married JT Shaw Feb 22, 1952, and made a life in Van Alstyne, TX. Pat spent her life in the service of others, first as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and then serving her community. She was also a long-time member of the local Eastern Star chapter and Culture Club. She could often be found taking friends to medical appointments, cooking for events at the church, or lending a helping hand to someone in need.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her two children, Nancy Hawkins, and husband Jim (Dalton, GA), and Wesley Shaw and wife April (Universal City, TX). Pat also cherished the many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews she had.

If a life can be measured by how much and how deeply one has touched others - Pat's life was a life well lived. She will be missed dearly by many.

A Memorial Service will be planned to celebrate the life of Pat Shaw, and information will be forthcoming.
