Patsy Ruth Lambert Singleton VANSANT, Va. Patsy Ruth Lambert Singleton, 82 years of age, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, Va., following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Washington County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Hatcher Lambert. She was a resident of Buchanan County for over 52-years, and was a member of the Grundy Church of Christ for 60 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker. Patsy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Singleton was preceded in death by her husband of 65-years, James Steward Singleton, Aug. 25, 2011. She is survived by three daughters, Marcia and husband, Donald Swiney, Bristol, Tenn., Connie and husband, Carvel Edwards, Clintwood, Va., Patricia Kathy and husband, Jim Johnson, Wellington, Fla.; three sons, Joel Mark and wife, Diana Singleton, Lebanon, Va., Michael and wife, Cynthia Singleton, Concord, N.C., Anthony Timon and wife, Angela Singleton, Oakwood, Va.; also, survived by 12 grandchildren, Terry Swiney, Dawn Crowe, Olivia Swiney, Sarah Ashe, Chris Edwards, Carey Edwards, Eric Keen, Heather Schenek, Andrew Singleton, Alison Singleton, Kennedy Blackman, Cheyanne Blackman; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by one sister, Madelaine Helbert; three brothers, James, Joe and Robert Lambert; and one grandson, Craig Lewis Edwards. Funeral services for Patsy Ruth Lambert Singleton will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the Grundy Church of Christ with Evg. Dennis Wimmer and Evg. William L. Neeley officiating with entombment to follow, Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum, Bristol, Vs. Friends may call at the Grundy Church of Christ Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. to await the funeral hour at 3 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Singleton, Carvel Edwards, David Large, Nick Slagle, Fred Shortridge and Terry Swiney. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Woods, Donald Swiney and Sam Hylton.
