Patsy Ruth Slaughter

Patsy Ruth Slaughter, 82, Eufaula, formerly of Hartshorne, passed away Friday Oct. 9, 2009, at Solara Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma.Patsy Ruth Slaughter was born on May 4, 1927 in Boonesville, Ark. To Arlie and Iva (Evans) Brownfield. She spent much of her childhood in the Hartshorne/Haileyville area and married John "Buster" Slaughter in 1950. After about 6 months in Jenks they moved to Muskogee where they lived for 36 years. Mrs. Slaughter worked for 20 years at the Muskogee Children's Clinic as the office manager. Mrs. Slaughter lived a couple of years back in Hartshorne before moving to Eufaula, where she has lived the past year. After her retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving relatives include 1 son, John W. Slaughter and his wife of Eufaula, grandchildren, Heather Ross and her husband and their children of Delaware, Meagan O'Neal and her husband the their children of Jenks, John H. Slaughter and his wife and their son of Muskogee, grandchildren, Kathy Anderson McGilberry, Dr. Jerry Nick, Joe Nick, Danny Anderson, Tommy Anderson, Curtis Anderson, Sheri Neighbors, Kerrie Pink and Dale Moody, 3 nieces, Susan Bowman of Phoenix, AZ, Linda Smith and her husband the their children of Hartshorne, Carol Brown of Hartshorne and her children of Norman, 2 nephews, Jimmy and Chuck Bowman.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buster Slaughter on Jan. 1, 2009; 2 daughters, Paula Morris and Mary Slaughter; and 2 sisters, Marie and Arline.Funeral services will be at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in Hartshorne at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 with Dr. Bruce Sanders officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Mike Porter, Gary Jackson, Keith Wilson, Niki Barno, Dick Morris, Greg Baker, Shannon Ross, Mike Smith, Jeff O'Neal and Brian Atkins.
