Patsy Jean Sturgeon

Patsy Jean Sturgeon of Spring Valley CA passed away in her home on August 23, 2025 surrounded by family. Patsy was born June 9, 1939 in her grandparent Pruitt's home in Schram City, IL. Her parents are the late Ben and Agnes Thacker. Patsy was a graduate of Litchfield Community High School class of 1957.

Patsy married Kent Sturgeon on June 22, 1958 at the First Baptist Church of Litchfield. They were blessed with four children Tina Bozyk, Jodi Hostetler, Donald Sturgeon and Kay Papakristo.

Patsy was a proud home maker and taught pre school while raising her four children. She was later employed by the Grossmont High School District as an Attendance Clerk at Valhalla High School. Patsy was an active member of Shadow Mountain Community Church where she worked in the Sunday school and served on the Board of Deaconess. After her husbands retirement she enjoyed traveling through out the United States in their motor home visiting family, friends and major tourist attractions.

Patsy is survived by her husband Kent, daughter Tina Bozyk, daughter Jodi (David) Hostetler, son Donald Sturgeon, daughter Kay (Foti) Papakristo, grandson Raymond da Rosa, granddaughters Mallori da Rosa, Marin (Michael) Murphy, Emma Hostetler, Isabella Papakristo, Eva Papakristo and two great grandsons Camden da Rosa and Nolan da Rosa,

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Shirley Zenner and a brother Len Thacker.

Interment will be at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, Ca. Arrangements are being made by Featheringill Mortuary San Diego Ca.
