Patsy June Varner

Patsy June Varner, 81, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning April 29th, 2015, at home in Harrisburg surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born in South Hampton Township, Cumberland County March 13, 1934, and a daughter to the late Frank Mixell and Hazel (Holtry) Mixell. She retired from K-mart and then returned to work for many years for Career Link in Chambersburg. She is a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6168. Patsy is survived by one son Bill Varner and his companion Lisa Mentzer; three daughters Sondra Davis, Barbara Varner and Linda Diehl and her husband Donald; Grandchildren: Cheryl Myers, Keith Staver, Kimberly Lemieux, Stephanie and Angie Varner, Larry Worthington Jr., Ryan and Megan Diehl; 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Patsy is preceded in death by 4 brothers Bud, Lewis, Dean and Lester Mixell; 1 sister Crystal Morgan; and one son Steven R. Varner. A Celebration of Life will be held June 16 at 6:30 at Premier Events, 429 E Orange St, Shippensburg. In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Central PA.
