Reverend Paul G. Bretscher Th.D.

Although I did not know him well, he was my father's cousin and always spoke kindly of my grandparents.

To all the children of Rev. Bretscher. I will ever remember each and everyone of you growing up with a Mother and Father who were very special and who lived a life of faith when raising you. My thoughts and prayers in the passing of your dad...He truly is at peace with our Heavenly Father.

A decent, loving and sincere human being. A brilliant mind. A devoted father and husband. A serving, protective and loving shepherd to his flock.

So sorry to hear of Pastor Paul's passing. Much of my childhood involves the Bretscher family, visiting, playing at their house. My condolences to a great family and especially to Joel who was in my class.

A true shepherd in the church.

my sympathy to Monica and the rest of the family. I was a good friend of Monica's in school & remember coming over to your house on Fair Street. Of course, Pastor Bretscher was my pastor so I have many memories of him preaching. I am glad he had a long life which touched so many thru his preaching, teaching & writing. God bless.

I have so many wonderful memories of Pastor Bretscher, but one of my favorites is the time that our 3 year old Jamie, decided to take off during a church service (Immanuel's gym)and ran right up to him and climbed up on his lap. He just sat there holding her until she decided to climb back down...such love and trust emanated from both of them. May you all feel God's peace and comfort as He welcomes His faithful servant home.

Sending prayers for this beautiful family - I went to school with Monica - did not know the other children - Rev. Bretscher was an amazing man who made a difference in so many lives inside and outside of Immanuel Lutheran.
