Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on May 11, 2013.
Paul Bruckman 1939- 2013 passed away peacefully at home with his wife Lynn at his side in Nanaimo BC Canada on May 3rd 2013. He was born in Florence, Italy in 1939 and emigrated to the United States in 1947. Paul Bruckman was an alumni of the University of Illinois and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years and seven children- Fred, Vicki, Jackie (Shar Rednour), Cynthia, Jennifer (Brad Tate), Garth, Ursula (Ryan Travis), eight grandchildren, siblings, and many extended family members and friends. Paul Bruckman was a well-known mathematician, poet, translated Dante's Divine Comedy and enjoyed cooking Italian cuisine for family and friends. He was an avid fan of science, nature, history, and classical music. His wife Lynn would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rachel Carson and especially to the dialysis nurses of Nanaimo. Paul and Lynn retired to Vancouver Island in 2003 and Paul was pleased to eventually become a Canadian citizen.

My nonno will always be in my heart and in my memories playing "you cry," and watching Fantasia. I will always remember you that way. Sending love to my grandma Lynn and all extended family.
