Paul Caruso Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 29, 2025.
Paul A. Caruso, Jr., known as Paulie, passed away on January 21, 2025, at his home in Wells, ME. He was 46 years old. Paulie was born on April 23, 1978, in Chicago, IL, and was raised by his late mother, Cynthia S. Caruso, and his father, Paul A. Caruso, Sr. in Schiller Park and later in Downers Grove, IL.

Paulie was a graduate of Downers Grove North High School, class of 1998. He had many passions and interests, with a particular love for hockey, which he played throughout his childhood on teams coached by his father. His enthusiasm for the sport remained with him throughout his life as he regularly enjoyed watching games with his dad. Paulie also loved music and playing the guitar. A person of great warmth and generosity, Paulie was known for his kind heart and sense of humor. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Paulie is survived by his father, Paul A. Caruso, Sr. (and life partner, Kathy Slack); his beloved sister, Alison C. McGinty (husband, Daniel); two nieces; and many extended family members and friends. Paulie's presence in this world will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Laurie

February 1, 2025

Paulie was a dear friend of 12 years, he was one of the first people I had met when I first moved here. Always with a warm smile on his face & time to have conversation. I will always have special love for Paulie Bear, (that's what I always called him). Such a kind hearted soul, connecting with Paulie was like going to church. Our conversations would always end sharing scriptures, talking about our faith in God . I would love to see him come to my gardens out back, we would just sit and talk, in silence sometimes he would help with the chore at hand. When we first met and he would come to my home, he would settle down in my over sized leather chair and with moments he would fall asleep, id go about my business quietly so not to wake him...when he woke, he smiled and say as he left, "thank you Laurie". I'm so glad I gave him a safe peaceful place to rest & recharge. He will be sadly missed by all....All my love a friend always...laurie God Bless
