CHANDLER, Paul Owner, Scrim's Florist Quietly at his residence, on Monday, May 23rd, 2011. Survived by his sister Doris Virgo (William), his sister-in-law Doris Chandler, his brother-in-law Robert Murray M.D. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by his brother William Chandler and his sister Helen Murray. Paul will be greatly missed by his family and friends and many others that knew and loved him. As a young man, Paul took a position at Scrim's Florist and worked with Miss Flora Scrim until the time of her death. Since that time, Paul owned, operated and loved the flower shop. He welcomed everyone with his smile and beautiful blue eyes. A true gentleman, Paul was kind and generous to many and will be missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing him. A Funeral Mass will Celebrated at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 95 Somerset Street, Ottawa, on Thursday, August 4th at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of a donation, the family requests that you be kind to others, in memory of Paul.

I first met Paul in 1975. He was kind with his ways and his remarks, and encouraged me to explore my vision and work toward my goals. I will always remember him as a true gentleman, free with time and advice. Never condecending, never judgemental, always encouraging, always reaching for the stars.
In short, perhaps the only true "gentleman" I will ever have the priveledge of knowing.
No doubt he has a very special room in heaven, with acacia trees blooming outside his window, lily of the valley by his bedside, babies tears blanketing his floor, and the scent of wisteria gently wafting through his soul.
Paul was a really special man, and I will always remember him with the kindest of thoughts.
My sympathy to all of his family and friends, on the loss of a truly great man.
