We lost a great man,husband,basketball coach and friend Paul Chippendale went home to be with the Lord at age 37. His love for his family and people his dedication and service for others what we can take with us and be what was Paul to others. To all the Chippendale family although I did not know you personally your Aunt Mary Ellen kept us informed of his progress and talked about him so often and how she remembered taking him to the park when he was first born and how happy the family was to have him.She loved him dearly and always said how his life was too short but he gave it all he had. He was an inspiration to the family and also loved by all.

I had the pleasure of coaching Paul in a youth baseball league. Drafting him to the team was easy knowing and having played ball with his father. He was talented, eager to learn, and above all, respectful of his coaches and teamates. Years later we became teamates as adult league players. The only thing that changed was that he was more talented and had learned a lot more, undoubtedly by some good coaches. What didn't change was his respect for those around him. What his parents did was build a monument for all of us to cherish and remember. God Bless Paul and God Bless the Chippendale family.

I was Paul's religious education teacher when he was around grade 8, some 29 years ago. He was mischievous, and one day I had to put him into the hall away from the class. He complained that there were no chairs. I told him to sit on the floor. He protested. I firmly told him to sit on the floor, and he did, but said, "My dad is a firefighter! I am going to tell him!" My eyes are tearing up as I type this. Paul was so proud of his Dad, and now by his life Paul has made his entire family and all who know him proud. Daryl Gonyon (Fall River)

Tom, I was so very saddened by the news that Paul died on Sunday. We only heard of his being sick a few weeks ago. I am so very sorrowful for your loss, your family's loss and the Department's loss. I remember the day you were born and how happy your family was. You were loved then and will always be loved.
