Paul Chisholm Obituary

Published by The Tewksbury Advocate from Nov. 13 to Nov. 23, 2018.
Paul Matthew Chisholm, age 32 of Wilmington, MA died unexpectedly on Friday, November 9, 2018 at UMass Memorial-Marlborough Hospital following a long history of heart disease. He was born in Seoul, South Korea on January 2, 1986 and adopted as an infant by Eileen OShea Chisholm and Doug Chisholm. Affectionally nicknamed Thud-Ouch, Paul barreled his way through life with a mischievous grin and steady determination to bring love everywhere he went. He was famous for both big and small acts of kindness, a sense of curiosity, and a gentle giant persona. Fueled by his passion for taking stuff apart and putting it back together (except better than before), Paul was employed as a mechanic at Vulcan Industries since 2007. In his final years, Paul lived with extraordinary grace following a stroke in 2012, leaving him with physical challenges, but a strengthened soul. Many watched Paul grow from infancy to young adulthood at Sandy Island Family Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, spending summers on the Service Crew and Fire Brigade. Sandy Island will remember Paul as compassionate, endlessly helpful, and a little too clever with his elaborate pranks. Paul loved new technology, the outdoors, a good car on a long stretch of road, and most of all, his friends and family. Paul is survived by his parents, Doug Chisholm and BethAnne Magnuson, his siblings, Bethany Chisholm Yost and her husband Justin Yost, Sandi Lemieux, her husband Kyle Williams, and their daughter Ryleigh, and Trevor Lemieux. As an individual with boundless amounts of love, Pauls heart required a family blended from every facet and stage of his life, from next door neighbors to Sandy Island friends to his beloved Hudson Tribe. He is survived by John Bandzul, Wendy Bandzul, Jason Bandzul, Julia Bandzul, Shane Bandzul, Christina Bandzul, Bill Madden, Jen Peterson, Lauri McHugh, Louis Vigliotti, Bryan Madden, Branden Madden, Miki Patterson, Walter LeClair, Josh Cipkas, Becca Cipkas, April Smith, Shawn Patterson, Kyle Perry, Mary Driscoll, Elizabeth Harriman, Gary Mercer, Nathan Mercer, and Lindsay Mercer. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 13th from 4 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. A funeral service will be held in the Dee Funeral Home on Wednesday November 14th at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Pauls family suggests a donation to the Paul Chisholm Memorial Fund, benefitting Sandy Island Family Camps Fire Brigade. You can make a gift at https://bit.ly/2FqohNU or mail a check, Attn: Kate Lemay, Executive Director Camping Services, YMCA of Greater Boston, P. O. Box 10, Mirror Lake, NH 03853. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
