Paul DELL'AQUILA Obituary

Published by Montreal Gazette from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1, 2018.
DELL'AQUILA, Paul It is with great sorrow that we announce that Paul Dell'Aquila passed away on January 29, 2018 at Etobicoke General Hospital. Paul is survived by his mother Teresa Dell'Aquila (nee Spinosa) and his brother-in-law Brendan Flynn and was predeceased by his father Salvatore Dell'Aquila and sister Tina Dell'Aquila-Flynn. Paul was born in Sant'Apollinare, Frosinone, Italy on July 12, 1960, he was a passionate Italian-Canadian who enjoyed his Italian food, Juventus soccer team and Ferrari F1 racing team but mostly he was a dedicated son. Paul attended Concordia University in Montreal before relocating to Toronto and working at GenPak. He loved his co-workers and job and was trying to sell his company's products right up to the very end. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of EGH as well as the CCAC for all of their support and care. Friends may visit at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario (east gate entrance) on Friday, February 2 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. followed by a service at 12 p.m. Interment to follow in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers we request donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.

Paul, your dedication to your family is a great inspiration and you've played the role model for us all. An example of your kindness was always being there to answer questions about computers. But your kindness didn't end there. There was no end to your kindness and willingness to lend a hand.
Paul, may you now rest in peace. You will be missed.

Looking back, I've played Paul's life story in my head countless times and I can't help but feel that, like everything else he'd ever done, it remains unfinished. That there was so much more that was left to be written.
Paul, was my best friend for the better part of my life.
He was always there when I needed him, except those times he didn't return my calls. (that's Paul)
He always knew what to say. Although sometimes I didn't really understand a word he was saying.
He was Paul!
He lived life at his own pace and shrugged off the things that would weaken most men.
He was a good man. An honest and caring friend.
As the rest of us grew up, succumbed to life's pressures and grew anxious and jaded, he kept his innocence and remained unfazed.
He always had time for others and their problems.
Even during the bleakest of times, his smile, words and carefree attitude, always made me feel like everything would be ok.
He's now left us to fend for ourselves.
Maybe Paul's life is really a guide on how we should live our lives and appreciate the good things around us.
Maybe as a sales person, his one true mission was to convince us all to buy into his notion of life. To see the world as he saw it.
Step back, have a coffee, smile back at adversity and, as Paul would say: Where I am is the center of the universe.
Maybe we should all take a page from Paul's life and carry it with us as a reminder that no matter what: Paul says stop worrying, it'll be ok.
Goodbye Mr. Dell'Aquila.
I'll miss you my friend. Forza Juve!
