Paul Forney Dellinger

Paul Dellinger MORGANTON Paul Forney Dellinger, 92, of Morganton and formerly of Coco, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Paul was born the son of the late Paul F. Dellinger and Mary Evelyn Mull Dellinger on Nov. 30, 1918 in Morganton. He honorably served his country during WWII. Paul loved life and his family. He attended Oak Hill United Methodist Church, and was known as a kind and generous individual. Along with his parents, Paul is preceded in death by two wives, Marjorie Kimber Dellinger and Mary Ruth Broady Dellinger, and a brother, John Dellinger. Those left behind to cherish his memory include two sons, Paul A. Dellinger and his wife, Marty of Morganton and Frank E. Dellinger and his wife, Peggy of Spartanburg, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Kelly Dellinger, Les Simmons, Jennifer Broome, Sandi Lee, Denise Bright, Frank Dellinger, Jr., Rhys Dellinger and Kayleigh Dellinger; and nine great-grand-children. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Denton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, N.C. 28690.
