Dear Matthew, Alan, and the Gervais family,

I just heard about your father's passing yesterday. On behalf of my sister, my dad, and myself I just want to say I'm so sorry. I remember your dad from when I was growing up and always hanging out in your basement on Wesley--- he was always a nice guy and it's a true shock to hear the news. To echo what my mom said your dad was always kind to my parents and a good friend to my father. My dad will definitely miss his fishing trips with Paul.

Dear Matthew and Alan,
It was only today that I found out about your Dad's passing. I am so sad for you both because you have lost a great dad. He use to come around and visit us after he left Wesley Ave. and he was very kind to Ken and often brought him up to the cottage to fish. He loved you both so much and was always beaming when he would talk about you and the grandchildren. He will be missed because he was a good man who loved people. My deepest sympathy. Matthew what a thrill it was seeing you last June and getting caught up on all the news. My heart goes out to you both.

Please accept my sincere condolences. Paul always made me feel welcome at the cottage and his home, and he and my dad and I always had a lot of fun, especially fishing and playing cards! There are many wonderful memories - cherish them. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Sudden loss of a loved one is a very difficult thing to go through. Allow yourselves to grieve, to cry, to miss him very much.I met your Dad before your mother married him. Matt, so sorry to hear about the loss of your father, my thoughts are with you.

Few things give a person a sense of fulfillment in life: a man pleased with the fruit of his labour, and the opportunity to indulge in this outcome. Though I met Paul only a couple of times through Alan, my brother in law, his love of life and family has been impressed upon me. Paul sitting on his deck at his cottage declaring, "I wonder what all the poor folk are doing!" testifies to his satisfaction and enjoyment in what he had and worked for.

Many prayers for Line, Matt, Alan, family and friends. May you all be at peace with the knowledge that Paul found joy and happiness in simple things that some of the most affluent of this world could not attain.

My sincere condolences to the family. I met Paul when I started to play Indoor Golf and enjoyed his company and his sense of humour.

Paul welcomed me into the family with open arms right from the start. I still remember him giving me a big kiss & hug the day I married Alan & telling me he loved me. For those of you who know Paul, this was not his style and it spoke volumes. He was a very proud Grandfather who loved his grandkids with his whole being. He will be greatly missed and our lives will never be the same.
