Paul E Gochenour,92 of Orient, OH, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tues. Sept. 4, 2018. He was born on July 24, 1926 to the late Leonard Gochenour and Anna (Martin) Rathburn in Scioto Twp. Pickaway County, OH. Paul was raised by his late grandparents James and Alice Martin. Paul was a member of Scioto Township School Class of 1945 and served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran. He retired after 18 years serving as a Scioto Twp. Trustee, 25 years at Teays Valley Scioto Elementary School as a Bus Driver and several years farming. Paul loved coaching youth in baseball in Scioto Twp., Cincinnati Reds Baseball, enjoyed playing horseshoes and traveling with his wife Norma to Florida for 25 years.
Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by a sister Helen Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma J. (McJunkin) Gochenour, daughters Vickie (Craig) Fleming, Jackie (Terry) Copley and Peggy (Michael) Gibson; grandchildren Travis Fleming, Todd (Elizabeth) Fleming, Mary Scholl, Lucas Scholl and Alison Copley; great grandchildren Hannah Fleming, Nick Fleming, Aaronn Carrington, Lily Carrington, Charlotte Fleming; sister Joan Conrad; several nephews and nieces and numerous friends from Scioto Township area as well as Florida.
Visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7th at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH 43103, with Perry Fausnaugh officiating. Interment and AMVETS military graveside service will follow at Beckett Cemetery in Commercial Point, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Rd. Suite C, Circleville, OH 43113. Online condolences at olivercheekfuneralhome.com

First and most of all I'm so sorry for your loss, my name is DON GOCHENOUR and I live in Bradenton,Florida you see we are not related in any kind of way I was born in Columbus,Ohio lived there for 20 years then moved to Florida the main reason I'm texting you is this I get the Columbus Dispatch online and I happened to see the obituary your last name as you know is a different you probably get alot of strange pronunciation I know that I do .So in closing God's grace be to you and your family and again may God continue to put a blessing again I hope you don't mind me giving a quick email to you I truly mean no disrespect on your family in this time of griving.
