My first memory is... Griffith Airport... G&N. My dad would tell us stories about Paul all the time! He met him on his horse at 13 years old. As far as I can remember he's always been a staple in the Johnston family. Was always very kind and generous.

Fly high Paul! A life will lived.

I have had the great honor of personally meeting this motorsports legend and consummate gentleman at IMS. His passing is a loss to the racing world but memories of his greatness on and off the track will never be forgotten

I'm at a loss for words. Paul first of all was probably one of the FINEST human beings I have ever met. Paul mentored me in my quest to become a pilot. He always found time to share his knowledge of aviation with me and was instrumental in my success gaining my instrument, multi engine and commercial ratings. I also had the honor of meeting his great family all sharing his wonderful demeanor. I'll miss his presence. May he rest in peace.

As an 12 year old neighbor of Mr. Goldsmith's I have many fond memories. In the early 60's Paul would always have a race car (or two) parked in the front of his home on a trailer waiting for the next race. It was always a treat when he would lift us into the car, strap us in, and explain to us how to race. I still accelerate into all the turns on the all the Interstates! And in later years having an opportunity to fly with him over Chicago as an untrained co-pilot was certainly a life experience! God Bless you Paul, and our respects to Linda. Kevin Dunn
