In the mosaic of our memory
Release the balloon and the kite
He hung up his wheelchair
And 21 begins all over
Brother Paul is
Taking the stairs
Two at a time
He is
Standing
Barefoot
At the shore
Climbing
Ladders and trees
Shifting gears
Kneeling
Trying on trousers
In his dancing shoes
Every angel with open arms
Gives and takes and makes his love

42 years ago I met Paul at RAF Bentwaters. Paul and I became very good friends. Somewhere in time we lost contact. How or why I am not certain. I discovered Paul through Facebook recently. I am extremely glad to have found him before his passing. When I spoke with him it was as though we both moved through time. He'd start off saying,"...it's all my fault...", but very soon we'd be laughing and all his trouble seemed to dissipate. I'd tease him about getting him a supped up wheel chair. He'd come back and say he already had owned one. No Paul, not like what I am talking about. Then we'd laugh. I am very sorry Paul has left us. I wanted very much to visit him. To the family of Paul Herman, my deepest heart felt condolences. There are no words to truly express the loss I feel and the loss you feel.
Paul can truly be at peace now. God Bless all of you. Sam
