Not sure what to say?

I have many memories, but I´d have to say a few of my favorite ones were when we got to work side by side on the short-term mission trips to Guatemala. His energy and focus never ceased to amaze me! But the really special moments were when we are all tired and relaxed at the end of those work days, and we´d all sit on Dr. Elry´s porch and talk, drink verbena, and reflect. Paul sometimes had a brief devotion and we all had some great conversations!

I had the opportunity to work with Paul during my time at Shepherd's Hope and he was such a wonderful, caring, kind person. His impact on Central Florida through his charitable work and his leadership of the church will not be forgotten. What an incredible legacy he leaves behind. Sending my thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.

As a former adult leader in BSA Pack 529 and Troop 854, I thank Pastor Hoyer for his support and contributions to the BSA program and scouts that were sponsored by Holy Cross. His efforts were instrumental in over 100 boys attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

To the Hoyer family, I extend deepest condolences. Pastor Paul was a strong and principled chair of the Leadership Seminole board of directors when I served. His term in office exemplified his commitment to servant leadership. He will long be remembered.

Paul will be dearly missed in our community. He was a modest leader whose work was mostly behind the scenes and Seminole County, and beyond, is far better for his life here.

What a shock it was to learn of Paul's death! They Hoyers were dear friends of our family way back in the Center Point, Iowa days and we visited often when they were in Nebraska. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. His was a life well lived!

I've been thinking of Paul and the Hoyer family a lot since hearing of his passing. The family played a large part in helping me become who I am. Both of your parents helped me grow in my faith and encouraged me to attend St. John's College and develop my skills to become a Parish Worker. I have great memories of times spent in your household and the many Walther League activities and events - especially your dad and others drinking a glass of water while hanging up-side-down! I will always have great memories of Paul and y'all! May you all cling to your faith in our Lord Jesus to be comforted during this trying time.

Pastor Paul was a great man who touched so many lives and leaves a beautiful legacy. A fond family friend and personally, a powerful influence on my own life, inspiring me in many ways. I'll remember his solid, sage advice and great sense of humor. He embodied the message of the Lord, and I take solace that he is now in heaven. Sending the Hoyer family so much love during this time. You are in my thoughts.

Pastor Hoyer was a young, right out of the seminary pastor when he & Betty came to St. Paul. We had a child the same age as his daughter. I would sit up toward the front with my kids so they would not be distracted by other kids playing with toys. One day pastor was a little long winded at the pulpit (or so my daughter, Amanda thought) & she started to cry. I could not console her. Pastor Hoyer walked toward our pew & scooped her up. She was quiet until he ended his sermon. I proceeded toward him and retrieved my child with a red face and a grateful heart.
