Paul Husak

Paul Husak, 97, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away on January 27, 2006. He was born in Jimramov, Czechoslovakia, to Alois Husak and Anna Javornicky. When he was three years old, his family immigrated to the United States. Paul joined Trans World Airlines in 1930 as a meteorologist. From 1930-1935 he was a weather observer atop Jack's Mountain near Mt. Union, Pennsylvania. In 1935 Paul was transferred to Newark as a meteorologist and later to Los Angeles as a flight dispatcher. He married Virginia Almond in 1961 and they retired to Prescott in 1975. After retiring, Paul had more time for his favorite activities including hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Prescott. He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Almond) Husak of Prescott; son, Richard Husak of Hendersonville, North Carolina; son, David Husak of Pinckney, Michigan; daughter, Barbara Ditrich of Sherwood, Arkansas; and daughter, Paula Case of Phoenix. He also is survived by a brother, Alois Husak of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and a sister, Martha Merz of Sun City. Paul has 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
