Paul Patrick Klender

Paul Patrick Klender, 92, formerly of Timonium, MD, passed away on July 26, 2025 at the Linville, VA home of his daughter Susan and son-in-law Dan Pinnell with whom he had lived since November 29, 2024.

Born in Baltimore, MD on March 17, 1933, Paul was the youngest of seven. He graduated from Southern High in 1952 and attended Baltimore Junior College for a semester before serving in the Army (1953-1955); he later earned accounting and law degrees.

In 1955 he met 18 year-old secretary M. Claire Holdorf at Mercantile Safe Deposit & Trust Co. They married in 1957, raised four children, and Paul retired in 1995 as a VP in the Personal Trust Dept. He and Claire were married 62 years when she passed away on July 19, 2020.

An avid sports fan, Paul enjoyed watching the Baltimore Colts/Ravens play and he was fiercely competitive himself at ALL games.

In addition to Claire, Paul was predeceased by his mother Mildred Walter Klender O'Hayer, stepfather Thomas O'Hayer, siblings Billy, Charles, Dorothy, George, Joe, and Tommy, nephews Chris Klender and Curtis Winstead, and nieces Patti Shilow Conn and Lynne Klender Fogle.

He is survived by his children, John Klender, Susan Pinnell (Dan), Tracy "Dink" Kern (Adam), and Kimberly Todd (fiancé Ken Smith), grandsons Brandon McCartin, Taylor Todd (Kendall), and Ethan Todd, great grandsons Clayton and Weston Todd, eight nieces and nephews, and his cat Catsanova.

There will be no public service.
