EUNICE - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul Lejeune, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. On the morning of Friday, September 22, 2023, Paul peacefully departed this world at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was a man of 66 years whose life was characterized by dedication and love. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Annunciation Church in Duralde. The burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Blaine Clement officiating.
Born on July 08, 1957, to the late Emery Joseph and Wedna Marie Klumpp Lejeune, Paul embraced a life devoted to farming as a rice and crawfish farmer. For over twenty-five years, he served as a dedicated member of the Acadia Evangeline Fire Department. Friends could often find Paul, known to them as “Goldilocks,” seated on his porch enjoying Cajun melodies and ready to visit.
Paul and his wife Debra were married for 46 years and resided in Duralde. They were blessed with three children: Kyle Lejeune and his wife, Candace, Robert Shane Lejeune and his wife, Christina, all of Duralde, and Tiffany L. Craton and her husband, Jeremy of Basile. His grandchildren, Dagan and Caroline Lejeune, Wesley, Emery, Landry, and Henry Lejeune, as well as Riley, Gage, and Wyatt Craton brought Paul a multitude of joy.
Paul will also be profoundly missed by his sisters: Nadin Cain and her husband Richard of Breaux Bridge, Norma Nix and her husband Steve of Iota, and Melinda Usery and her husband Robert of Livingston, TX. Many extended family members and dear friends will also mourn his passing.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Neil Lejeune.
A visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, September 25th from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm. The recitation of the Rosary will commence at 6:00 pm led by Deacon Chuck Ortego. For those paying their respects or wishing to bid farewell to Paul on the morning of Tuesday the 26th of September may visit from 8:00 am until the time of services.
