I will always remember him because of our talks of Italy and his "Snarkle". He always knew what to say to brighten anyone's day. I will always love and miss you>

I write this on behalf of all of us who knew Archbishop Paul Marcinkus, and in particular, his dear friend, Father Joseph Vadino, who died suddenly on June 12th. I know that they are enjoying the rewards of their dedicated priestly work and perhaps even a game of tennis, now that their knees and spirits are restored. History will some day rewrite all the errors in the reporting of the events of Archbishop Paul's life -- but for the moment, God knows what we who were close to him always knew-- he was a GREAT man.

I am saddened by the passing of Bishop Paul, as our family called him. My Mother was very close to the Bishop's sister and saw both of them often until she passed away. I am signing for myself and my Mother, Mary Amodeo. It was a pleasure to know the Bishop, in fact I saw him last year at Boswell Hospital while we were here in Arizona. Peace be with him.

I am saddened at the death of Archbishop Marcinkus. Circumstances allowed me to learn of it only today. I met him in Rome when I was stationed at our Generalate 1980-85. I only knew him as a kind, honest and gentle person and priest. I just called him for his birthday and mailed him a note today, I will continue to depend on his prayers from heaven where his reward will be great after much suffering here on earth. My sympathy and prayers to his family and Mavi.
