Today I am working on a demo for a client, they are the hub of Route 66, and one of their road signs has a 1959 Teal Blue Chevy Belair on it. First thing I thought of was my dad - and how he would say his '54 was better than the '59. I miss him all the time but I know he is always with me, and I'm thankful he gave me the wings to fly and be successful. His grandson graduates from college in May and I know he would be really proud of that. Love you dad - it's never really goodbye, it's just a see you later.

My big brother was always a hero to me, from the time he thrashed the town bully for pushing me down a hillside; even though the bully was much older and larger than him. I must have been all of 5 years old, but have never forgotten that day. He took me everywhere with him, from swimming & fishing in the creek, to movies, bowling, and enjoying hair-raising bike rides on the back of his bicycle. Later as a teenager, he thrilled me and my friends by throwing firecrackers at us from a moving car as we walked down the street. Life was never boring around him! Someday I hope to see him and hear his laugh again.

Even from those of us who did not see him frequently anymore after moving we will always remember everything from the nose wave, falling asleep on the couch every christmas to arguing with his brother Steve about every aspect of his life. His house and the houses of people who knew him will never the same again.

My dad was a hero, and died doing something he believed in. We will miss him but take solace in knowing that while his time on Earth was limited, he made a difference in the lives of others.
