Pleasanton resident, 73

KEARNEY - Paul E. Overholser, 73, of Pleasanton died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasanton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Evie Gulachi officiating and military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9481 and Roy Eaton American Legion Post 321, both of Pleasanton, and the Nebraska National Guard Military Honors Team. Burial will be later at Mason City Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Holbrook to Leo and Violet (Renigar) Overholser.

On May 3, 1976, he married Clarrena Cherry in Kearney.

Survivors include his wife; and brothers, Leo of Wilcox, Richard of Atlanta and Calvin of San Diego.

He attended school in Holbrook and was a graduate of Holbrook High School. He entered the U.S. Army Dec. 12, 1955, and served until he was discharged Nov. 2, 1957.

He and his wife lived in Pleasanton and moved to Omaha in 1984. He worked for Campbell Soup Co. in Omaha until he retired in 1997 and they returned to Pleasanton.

He was a member of Pleasanton United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Elks Lodge in Omaha.

He was very ambitious, well-liked, very honest and fun-loving. He loved his home and enjoyed family activities. He had a very close relationship with his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
