My husband, Ken and I sang in the choir at Fair Oaks Presbyterian church for many years. We were privileged to go on two choir tours to Europe, 1990 and 1997. Our music abilities were streeetched with Paul as director. We had to memorize church music in German and Swiss in preparation for the International Church Music Festival in Berne, Switzerland. Something we never dreamed we would be involved in. If not for Paul and Martha, we would never have been exposed to such a rich experience as singing in cathedrals across Wester Europe and the Music Festival mentioned above. We relished choir practice, the anticipation of going on tour, being on tour and having a friendship with these two kind, loving and faithful followers of Christ.

Dear Martha, Trisha and Family! I´m so sorry to hear of Paul´s passing. He was a very nice man and a great choir director at FOPC as well as a popular counselor at Del Campo. He will be missed!

Paul was one of the best church choir directors I've had. I'll always remember him fondly.

Paul was a Volunteer at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, in Carmichael, CA in the Gift Shop. I had the great pleasure of working with him, and his wife, Marty who also worked in the shop. The only man working in the shop, he came in to volunteer every Saturday. He would walk in and say, "Ah, now I can relax!". It was the Honey Do's he was avoiding, so we had a good laugh. He enjoyed taking phone orders for flowers or gifts, and was always available during the week to fill in when we most needed him. I was sad to see Paul and Marty leave California for Wisconsin, but it was for family, so at the same time I was happy for them. He said to me once before leaving, "And they want us to come home!". Of course they did! So glad he got to spend his remaining time with family and friends.

Paul volunteered at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael California for 10 years. He was a delight to volunteer with and He had a great sense of humor. He and Marty would often share their musical talents with us at our various Luncheons. Each taking turns on the piano and one or both singing! Everyone missed them when they left us to move closer to their families.

Paul was a very kind and thoughtful man. I met him through his son, Brett and became friends with him and his wife Martha. We all attended the same Lutheran church in Citrus Heights, California.
My deepest sympathy and condolences to Martha and the rest of the family for your loss. Paul will be missed. I hope he is finding peace and happiness with his son Brett in God's eternal home.
