He was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Blairsville, to the late John E. and Florence M. (Donahue) Ringler. Paul was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was a professor of art, author and illustrator of numerous cartoon series, including the Draw Man television series. His latest work was the mosaic he recently designed for the Oklahoma City Community College campus. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot of a B-24 Liberator, with the Fifth Air Force in the South Pacific Theater. He created the "Conrad the Conemaugh Otter" character for the Blairsville Historical Society. Paul is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Pina and husband, Benjamin, of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Anna Jo Smith, Wesley Pina and Vicente Pina; a sister, Eileen Pease of Blairsville; and two brothers, Jack Ringler and wife, Annis, of Federal Way, Wash., and Dan Ringler and wife, JoAnne, of Blairsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Twyla. Services were held Nov. 22 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Oklahoma City, with interment in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.
