Paul Rote Obituary
Paul was born on October 20, 1949, to Carl and Phyllis (Brightman) Rote in Pittsburgh, Pa. He graduated from North Rockland High School in 1967, received his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1971, and earned his master's degree of business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1979. He went on to a successful career in oil and gas land management -- including serving as Vice President, Land at Energen Resources Corporation and a board member for the American Association of Professional Landmen -- before becoming an "award-winning" fisherman and "professional" photographer (meeting the minimum definition of both) in his retirement. He was supremely independent but unfailingly loyal, disliked hugs but loved bragging about his girls, and had a delightfully irreverent sense of humor.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; daughters, Morgan and Jennifer; son-in-law, Jared Rifis; brother, David Rote; nieces, Zoe (Rote) Kourajian and Amy (Fuselier) Checkan; and nephew, Edward Schultz.
