As a young yard clerk and yardmaster I had a slight fear of train dispatchers .. not fear really but a trepidation .. getting the car counts, destination block and most importantly the tonnage. Paul knew I was inexperienced but trying hard. As time went on you learn the quirks of the dispatchers and they of you.
Paul had no quirks .. straight up let's move trains.
The best feeling I had was one afternoon he called the yard for the rundowns. When I answered the phone .. he said .. Jim, I hope you are working this shift with me .. he said ok, lets have it .. I gave him the info and hung up. Made me feel good and as the years went by we were always glad to be teamed up. Just a nice guy, gentleman and mentor.

Dear Aunt Agnes,
All my love and heart goes out to you. I only have such good memories of you and Uncle Paul, the good times I had staying at your house. The smell of Uncle Pauls pipe, his art work on the wall. Even the out-house. You gave me so many good memories I will always keep in my heart. I was very honored to have such a great man as my Uncle. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you always, Love Your Niece Rosanna

Paul was a great guy - father - brother and husband. I met him later on in his railroad career, but always a gentleman and a mentor to me and many many other 'young' railroaders. I'd see him occasionally around Dunmore and we would talk of the old days of DL&W and EL.
A big loss to friends and family.

Paul was a true gentleman and a nicer person would be hard to find. He loved his family and the Lackawanna Railroad.. Paul and I talked about the DL whenever we met.. It is a great loss to his family and friends and to me.
