He was predeceased by his mother, Marie A. (DiPaolo) Salamida and his father, Marino A. Salamida. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Paula (Mangino) Salamida; daughter, Catherine Salamida; son, Joseph (Jami) Salamida; brother, Dominic (Coni) Salamida; and sister, Marietta Salamida. He also treasured many life-long friends, and his new friends in Florida. Paul was a 1961 graduate of Union-Endicott High School, and a graduate of SUNY Binghamton. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a communications officer stationed at the White House and at Camp David. He was a Financial Analyst and Project Manager at IBM and Lockheed Martin for 45 years before retiring in 2010. In the past, Paul was a member of the Duca Degli Abruzzi Sons of Italy Lodge in Endicott, NY, and held the post of Sons of Italy NY state treasurer. Paul enjoyed playing golf, and played many rounds of golf with his friends and family in New York and Florida. Paul will be remembered for his quick wit, and the ability to tell a story and make you laugh. He was gifted with a joyful and adventurous spirit. Funeral Services will be held Monday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 am. Marietta and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved brother, Paul. I know he suffered in recent years, but now you can be sure he is in a better place where all that pain is gone. I can't make it to the services but I want you to know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this most difficult time.

Growing up knowing of Paul as a gentle person who all knew would succeed as he did we watched him be a force whenever he took the CYO court and in all his athletics ,as he went on to college and his success in the Military and his position of high level importance the whole neighborhood was so happy for him and family. His love to Paula was known by all and they could not escape the "Paul and Paula " love song we all would hum and refer to when we saw these two and knew it was textbook love. Seeing him later in life and meeting his Family so often as he maintained the house on Odell was always a pleasant meeting and his stature and gentlemanly way was again always with him.Knowing Paula's Family as neighbors and the love of God they all possess does not make passing any easier but we move on knowing he is in Heaven and our thoughts and prayers will always be with him and the Family.May he rest in Peace and always be remembered as that kind ,gentle and successful Man.

Paula and family, My deepest sympathy goes out to you with the passing of Paul. I had the opportunity to work with Paul in the Financial and Program Office assignments for many years in Owego . Throuhout his career with IBM ,and later Lockheed Martin, Paul was willing to take on many difficult assignments and work many long hours to help the Owego team achieve its objectives..The complexity of the products Owego provided, coupled with the tight schedules, and the challenging financial objectives fostered an extremely stressful environment. Thankfully, Pauls great sense of humor, and ability to work through the seemingly impossible tasks brought out the best in Paul. His accomplishments clearly helped the Owego team prosper. I always respected him because he never forgot that his hard work was enabling him to provide a better life for his family . I hope the good memories you have will help sustain you during your future years. God bless,
Bob and Chris Volp

Paula, we know you've lost your best friend. Paul made us all giggle because he looked at the world uniquely. He was both a scholar and a comedian. What fun it was to be his neighbor! We know that Paul is with the LORD and not suffering anymore. He loved you, Paula, and put you on a pedestal! You were "his" girl! We shall all miss Paul.

Paula & Family, I wish I had been able to spend more time with "Coach" as the few times we were in his company we were awed at his humor and quick wit. of course I admit it took a few minutes to realize you had been "snookered" but that made it all the funnier. may you be at Peace knowing he is now in the arms of our Lord and we will all see him again one day! God Bless, Lois & Irene
