Paul Stirba Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 13, 2025.
Paul (Paulie) Stirba passed away on August 12, 2025. He was a long-time resident of Oakland, New Jersey (since 1972). He moved to Estero, Florida in 2015.

Paul was born in Passaic, New Jersey on June 11, 1941, to Paul and Pauline Stirba. He grew up in Garfield, New Jersey and was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1960.

Paul married his high school sweetheart, Mildred (Millie) Bertola on February 1,1961. They were married for 64 years. Paul adored Millie as she did him. For many years they split their time between Oakland, New Jersey, Bayville, New Jersey and Estero, Florida before permanently moving to Florida in 2015.

Paul had a long and successful career at Sears, Roebuck & Co. as Manager of the Parts Department in Maywood, New Jersey, then as a Consultant in their Computer Services Department. He retired early at the age of 55 and then worked part time at Darlington Golf Course for 10 years.

His two daughters and their spouses survive Paul: Kim Ann and Stephen Reynolds of Pequannock, New Jersey and Pamela and Westley Harris of Baltimore, Maryland. He was affectionately known to his four grandchildren and one great grandchild as Poppy: Jakobi, Tori and Zion, Jesiah, Delaney and Emerson. They loved him very much, and he will be missed. He is survived by his sister Eileen Car of Estero, Florida.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life in New Jersey in the fall.
