Paul Theroux Obituary
Paul Edwin Theroux, 67, died Friday in East Windsor, CT. He was born October 9, 1949, in Springfield Massachusetts to the late Harold and Mary (Parker) Theroux. He was a graduate of the former Classical High School in Springfield, Massachusetts and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (Amherst). Prior to a long illness, he worked many years in promotion marketing and he was especially proud of his work on Woodstock '94. Paul was always the most charismatic man in any room, he was full of dad jokes and had a bright infectious smile. He was a marathon runner and he competed in 26 races in cities including Boston, New York, Philadelphia and St. Louis. He was also an avid golfer and known for his love of sports and music. Paul is survived by his brother Gene and sisters Nancy and Susan, as well as his loving wife Jean Theroux, son Christopher Theroux, daughter Ashley Theroux-Hui, son-in-law Tom Hui along with his grandchildren Gabriel and Ellis. A memorial service will be held this Friday, September 8th at 11am at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. I just learned of Paul's passing. It leaves me with a heavy heart. Though it's been so many years since our college days at UMASS, I will always remember him with great fondness. Sincere condolences to his family.
