Paul Veinote Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 7, 2011.
NEWBURGH - Paul Ernest Veinote died unexpectedly Oct. 5, 2011, doing what he loved best, coon hunting with a longtime friend. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his loving family. He had a love for animals and could be seen frequently with his dogs in the back of his truck. Paul was a lifelong resident of Newburgh and was known for his spectacular carpentry skills as well as being a jack-of-all-trades. He could work on most anything. Paul loved his family and always looked forward to family gatherings at Christmas time and birthdays. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Frances (McLaughlin) Veinote of Newburgh; his children, Diane Ward and friend, Jim Farley, of Newburgh, Mary Ann Ross and husband, Larry, of Newburgh, David Veinote and wife, Lynne, of Hampden and Joanne Jackson and friend, Sharon Pouliot, of Monroe; brothers, Gene Veinote and Robert Veinote of Newburgh; sister, Jennie Richardson of New Hampshire; his special grandchildren, Susann Ross, Tina Bofinger, Jennifer Williams, Travis Ward, Erika Veinote and Jenna Veinote; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Williams, Chloe Williams and Baby Bofinger. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends and longtime hunting buddies. He was predeceased by his parents, Ford and Dorothy Veinote. Family and friends may visit 4-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. To remember Paul, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be sent to Frances Veinote, 389 Mudgett Road, Newburgh, ME 04444. After the passing of my own father - Paul became more of a second father than a close friend. I'll always cherish the memories of our many "projects" together. He was always there for us no matter time of day or the weather. Syrup season won't be the same without him. I'll think of him often especially when using one of his "old indian tricks".

I wish I could be there with you all. If you gave a best grandfather award it would go to Paul Veinote without adoubt. One of my fondest memories was when we were little we would all pile into Papa’s car during Christmas time and he would drive us around looking at all the pretty lights and decorations people would put on there houses. I love him and will miss him dearly.
