Paul T. Wilczynski

I will miss calling and visiting my brother very much. I will miss going to gun shows and stopping at Applebee's for lunch and then getting pedicures at the salon nearby.
I will never forget the dump truck, like the one he drove for many years, using his Jake breaks going by the church while the hearse was slowly pulling away. It was a 21 apropos salute to my brother. I miss him dearly now and forever.

I was fortunate to have been born into a loving, quirky family. Uncle Paul had a great sense of humor. We definitely inherited our quirks from the Wilczynski side of the family. Not only was he funny, he was also kind and caring. He was just easy to love. I remember getting Spam as one of our tacky gifts for Christmas. Every time I see Spam, I think of him. He will be deeply missed, but my love for him will never cease. He will always be carried in my heart and through some of my quirks. Rest in peace. I Love you.

Paul's mother and my mom were sisters. When I was a kid, every summer my mom, my sister and I took the bus from Philly to Carbondale to visit Mom's family. It was the same house that Paul grew up in. Dad came with us to make sure we got there safely and then went back on the bus.

Both of my parents were blind.

When we lived at 3715 9th Street, Paul stayed with us, he had the big back room.

Sometimes he went grocery shopping. He did the dishes and helped around the house when he could. When our visiting plans aligned, he drove us to Richmondale and when he married Arlene, together they often helped. It saved Dad the trip up and back so he wouldn't miss work.

On the rides upstate, Paul always included lessons on how to drive what to do and what not to do and, most importantly, how to watch out for trucks. "Common courtesy," he would say.
He took me out a couple times when I had my permit but his lessons had really taking place for many years. He might not have realized it but ultimately, he taught me to drive on those rides up the turnpike.

Paul and Arlene arranged small parties to celebrate my sister's first communion and confirmation.
When I was old enough to be an altar boy and our church refused to let me be one, they arranged for me to be an altar boy at Holy Trinity, where they often took us to attend mass anyway. Those were the days that I seriously considered being a priest so it was extremely meaningful to me.

There is one picture of my parents my sister and I that we cherish, it wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Paul and Arlene, we are both forever thankful.

As his family grew we saw less of him, but I was always grateful to have such a great cousin.
Paul was always an even keeled, mild mannered, considerate man. He definitely left his mark on our family with all that he did for us, both him and Arlene.

What can I say about my Uncle Paul? He was a kind, generous man whose heart was as big as his stature. As a child, I remember being fascinated by his extensive Hess truck and model car collection. He even let us play with some. So cool of him! It was always sweet of him to call me randomly just to check in. It made smile afterwards to know he was thinking of me. It was also nice seeing him on his "pop in" visits to my father's house. We would chit chat for a bit and just catch up. Every time I see an "alligator" on the road, I will think of him. "This is your niece "Panda Chick" telling "The Pope" that he will never be forgotten and always be in my heart. Over and out!"

I cannot begin to describe the kindness and generosity that was inherent in every gesture Paul made to anyone. He was the love of Arlene’s life and vice versa. Heartfelt condolences to his children and their families. Ron and I enjoyed their visits to Florida.

Paul will always be “Dad Wil” to me- a loving 2nd father who always kept an eye on me. I’ll never forget driving up to the cabin in my 1990 Saturn. Dad always checked my oil because was infamous for forgetting to get it changed. Dad discovered I had zero oil and likely saved me from having my engine destroyed! He was always so caring and paternal to me. Dad Wil will always live in my heart.

Dear Nadine and Andrea I really loved your dad he always had a nice thing to say he truely was a stand up guy didnt see him much but I knew when I did he always had a hug for me ..life here is short but he will have an eternity in heaven with mom and you girls God Bless you all ❤

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.If I saw the "Bug" I would always look for him sitting out in his chair. I would stop and always end up with a story. My favorite was how he bought his 73 Dart off the people who used to babysit for him. He will be missed. RIP Paul.

You could tell what a kind and friendly man Paul was by his warm greeting. Loved meeting Paul @ the mens monthly breakfasts or meeting to chat on the bench at the mailbox, which usually ended with a crowd meeting. He was like the Community Greeter. You knew Paul on the street when you past him in the "BEAR" his white VW. The Rosecliffe Community will miss him. RIP.

One summer day, Paul and Arlene were visiting us at our camper at Elk Lake. Before dinner, we decided to take a ride to God's Mountain, a retreat situated on top of a nearby mountain with panoramic views of the area. The retreat house was hosting an event and invited us to stay for dinner. After dinner we hung around to peruse the facility which had a pool, tennis courts, game room, etc. Uncle Joe, as usual, spent the time taking pictures, while Arlene and I were busy checking out the beautiful grounds as well as the fantastic view. After a time, we decided it was time to leave. We couldn't find Paul. We looked everywhere. We couldn't figure out where he could be. We finally found him, where else, but in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up, where he was helping the cleanup crew. That was the essence of Paul, always willing to lend a hand!

What an absolutely kind and amazing man, he will be greatly missed. Sending my sincerest condolences ❤

So many memories! The one Uncle Paul, Aunt Arlene, and I always laughed about is all the times Uncle Paul moved me in and out of dorms, houses, and apartments while at Villanova. He certainly had lots of practice before Nadine and Andrea started college! He and Aunt Arlene were my second parents when my family moved to California. Most holidays in the late 80s and early 90s I spent at the Wilczynski home in Lansdale, and I usually brought my laundry!

My other favorite memory was when Shea, our 3 young kids, and I visited the cabin in Thompson. Uncle Paul taught our boys who were about 6 and 7 years old to light matches!

Paul was a lovely, funny man to work with at Grand View Recovery Room ~ appreciate him for giving of his time and energy to the Thrift Shop ~ he will be missed. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family

The last time I had visited Uncle Paul I had just so happened to go through his coffee table books. Both him and my Dad were napping in the chairs beside me of course. What struck me in absolute appreciation and fascination was not only the dynamic aptitude he had with his cars, there at all times right beside him were family and friends within that moment in time. The same being with the other photo albums placed in honor on that table. All proud gatherings of loved ones. Wow, I'm so honored to be part of that! It is no wonder our family tree along with photos were lovingly displayed on the way up the stairs there as well. It was part of him always. Along with Aunt Arlene, his tremendous kindness and hospitality will surely be missed on my travels (I always had to stop there). Rest in Peace, Uncle Paul. But then again, I'm not quite sure how it works up there as you might want to race cars or something. In that case, have fun Uncle Paul! Win one for us! We will take care of your legacy here as you have taught us and especially Nadine, Andrea and their children well! With Love Always, Stephanie

My dear Uncle Paul was more than a relative to me- he was a mentor and friend. He listened without judgement, offered guidance, and encouraged me to be my authentic self. He was my biggest ally and I will forever be grateful for his unwavering support. His legacy shines on through the generosity and kindness of Andrea and Nadine as well as all those he’s met and inspired to do the same. Rest in Peace Uncle Paul.

To Nadine and Andrea, my sincere condolences on the passing of your father. Your parents were an integral part of Holy Trinity for many years. I will remember Paul's kind greetings and conversations when I saw him at church and other related functions. Please take comfort in the many good times and events you had with him over time. We’re blessed Thomas and Ania shared their Pop Pop with our family. Pop Pop happily joined us on play dates with the kids & enjoyed watching the kids run around. We had the honor of celebrating Thanksgiving 2022 with Pop Pop. He surprised all the kids, including ours, with a special treat under their dinner plates. Pop Pop’s kind gestures touched the hearts of many. May Thomas and Ania carry on the legacy of their Pop Pop.

Paul (and Arlene as well) were heavily involved in Holy Trinity for the many years I have been a member. They were very devoted to their church and their family. Although I didn't know Paul outside of church, I could tell he was a solid person who treated everyone with kindness and respect. I am sad to hear of his passing. Eternal memory!

Paul and Arlene came to visit me when my daughter had leukemia. They brought food and gifts for both my children. That act of kindness still brings tears to my eyes!

I didn’t know Paul, but knowing his daughter Nadine, whose love, kindness, caring, and friendship make me think I may have known the wonderful person and father/grandfather that Paul was. May he rest in peace.
