Paul Rader Wiley was born November 24, 1922 in Spokane, Washington, the son of Rev. Clyde H. and Gertrude Wiley and died at home on February 25, 2017, in Ripon, CA. He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Lyla, and two sisters, Helen Louise Lawrence of Fredericksburg, VA and Ella Marie Harty of Yucaipa, CA.
He was the loving father of four children, Janice (Howard) Swing, Jolene (Gerard) Anderson, Mitchell (Terri) Wiley, and Jeanette (Clarke) Prescott. Mr. Wiley was the grandfather of ten and great-grandfather of eighteen.
Mr. Wiley was a graduate of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, and USC School of Social Work. He served in the US Navy in the Asian Pacific Theater in World War II as a Quartermaster/Signalman from October 27, 1942 until January 16, 1946. He worked in Public Welfare since 1948 and was the Director of the Department of Public Social Services of Riverside County from 1968 until his retirement in 1982.
A long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Riverside, Mr. Wiley taught Sunday School, ushered on Sunday mornings, and sang in the choir. He enjoyed sharing his love of God, sailing, and the great outdoors with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Mr. Wiley's internment will be at Riverside National Cemetery on March 31st at 2:00 pm and his memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Riverside on April 1 at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Optimal Hospice Foundation, 1101 Sylvan Ave. #B-10, Modesto, CA, 95350 or Bethany Home Society, San Joaquin County, 930 W Main St., Ripon, CA, 95366.
