Pat I am so sorry my prayers are with you and your family. I wasn't able to attend the funeral in person but did get to watch it on line. I am so grateful that I was able to meet you and Paula and spend time with your mom. Paula went through a lot and now she is at peace with the Lord.

I only got to meet Paula a few times, but every time I did she brought happiness and togetherness with her. I can see her legacy in my good friend Kevin. Selin and I are proud to call ourselves friends of the Flaherty family, and our hearts go out to you all in this difficult time.

Pat,
You are indeed blessed to have had such a wonderful person in your life.
Every time Tom and I would see her, she was smiling, engaged and such a delight. I know the last few years have been so painful for all of you. But God will welcome her into his arms so easily. She was such a role model for all of us and her legacy will live on in her grand children. We send all of the love we can to you and her family...

Paula was always so friendly and upbeat. She was always ready and willing to take on the big projects at St. Ignatius and she would always help anytime I asked her to help me on a project. I enjoyed talking over dinner and having fun on our vacations. We will miss your sweet smiling face, easy disposition and your fun personality. A life well lived! Rest easy Paula!

Pat, I am so sorry for your loss. As time goes by I wish I could tell you that it goes away completely, but there will always be a part of you that will remember something so simple as a touch, a look, a smile, a phrase, a laugh & the tears will flow & your heart will ache. You may not want to get out of bed, then don't, take your time to grief the way that is best for you. Right now you are surrounded by so many loving people but soon they will go on about their lives & you will be left alone & that is when it will probably hit. Don't let anyone tell you how to grieve or how long. Honestly I am 16 months out from when my husband passed suddenly, & there are many days I cannot get motivated to do anything. Be kind to yourself, & know that you did everything in the world for Paula & was by her side every step of the way. if you ever need someone to talk to that has lost a spouse, I am here for you, or there are several support groups online & local that might help. My support group on facebook has helped me tremendously just by reading their stories & the things they deal with I find are similar to what I experience.
To everyone else, May God wrap his loving arms around each of you & comfort you during this very difficult time of losing a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend.
I am sorry this is so long but I have one memory I would like to share, in fact ironically on Saturday afternoon before I knew of Paula's passing this came to mind. I remember the times that Paula used to host pay per view boxing matches in a bedroom at Rose and Dukes & my dad, Gene, went every time & he absolutely loved that time he spent with all of you that were there, crammed into a small bedroom. That was always a fond memory he carried with him & so do I. I may not see or speak to you guys very often, but my heart is with you & should there be anything that you can think of that you may need & don't have please feel free to give me a call. I love all of you (((HUGS)))

Like St Paul, Paula fought the good fight. Blessed be those who have been there through it all. May she rest in peace.
