I met Paula only a few times during this past school year, as her son James and my son Patrick became fast friends. She was an immensely compassionate, caring woman with a wonderful sense of humour and a smile to match. It was obvious that James was her pride and joy and the love of her life. My heart aches for James and the rest of Paula’s family in their time of loss and I hope they will find comfort in the knowledge that the memory of her lovely spirit lives on in all of us who had the privilege to know her.

My condolences to Paula's family and loved ones. I knew her during her years at Carleton University. She faced her life's difficulties with great determination, and her love for her little son made her shine. Please accept my sympathy at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Paula. My heart goes out to James. She was the first "Mom" that I met while bringing my daughter Cora to her first day of school in Sept 2002. She was a beautiful woman. We will miss her tremendously.

My most heartfelt condolences to those people closest to Paula and James during this difficult time. In the short time I knew Paula, it was clear she was a loving mother, dedicated volunteer, and determined woman. I will remember her with fondness. May the passage of time allow each of you the opportunity to look back on memories with love and joy, not sadness.

I would like to extend my most heartfelt condolences to Paula's family and friends at this tragic loss. Though I did not know Paula well, her generous nature stood out in our school community and she will be greatly missed there. My heart grieves for James at losing his very loving mom and I wish him and the rest of Paula's family all the great strength needed in the time ahead. Sincerely,
