Paula Teller

Highland Beach - Paula Teller of Highland Beach, Fl and Penfield, NY, passed away on November 10, 2025, one day shy of her 91st birthday. Paula was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Alan Teller and her brother, Larry Grossman. She is survived by her three children, Jeri Teller-Kanzler (Thomas- deceased), Lori Teller-McDonald (Howard Schwartz), and Michael Teller (Claire), five grandchildren; Brittney McDonald, Jason Kanzler (Ashley), Sean McDonald, Matthew Kanzler, Eric Teller and two great- grandchildren; Logan Kanzler and Cadence Kanzler.

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Paula married Alan Teller at age 18 and moved to Yonkers, NY where Paula dedicated herself to the family, raising their three children.

Those who knew Paula knew of her caring, compassionate nature and her passion for helping others. When her children were older, Paula returned to college to pursue this passion, graduating summa cum laude, earning a master's degree in Guidance and Counseling, and a certificate in family counseling from Long Island University. Paula then went on to earn a master's in social work (MSW) from New York University (NYU). Paula had an established private practice and also volunteered as a hospice counselor and provided support and counseling to teenagers suffering from eating disorders. As an avid animal lover, Paula befriended and cared for multiple pets throughout her life. Pets were always treated as cherished members of the family.

Paula will be deeply missed. Services for Paula will be held privately. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in her memory to an animal shelter of your choice.
