Pauleen

I have such great, fun, wonderful and fond memories of Pauleen. We had a bond that I won't ever have with someone else. No matter how much time there had been when we last saw each other or talked to each other, when we got back together it was like there was never any lost time. She was a friend that I was always comfortable with and could share anything.

Pauleen and I knew each other before 9th grade but that is when we became best buds and remained so over all these years. We had a great time in high school. Football games, dances (with live bands), boys, hanging out. At Nathan Hale High School the core classes were assigned alphabetically. Which meant Pauleen Ryan and Anita Haigh only had elective classes together like gym and home ec. Pauleen convinced me to take a Voice Class. She of course shined with her great singing voice, while I who loves to sing but can't carry a tune (ask my family) wondered what I was doing there. I convinced Pauleen to take an Office Machines class with me. This wasn't her idea of a fun class as you can see from the picture enclosed. I know you won't believe this but she could be a troublemaker. I got called out by the teacher all the time in this class for talking when it was Pauleen that was being disruptive. We had a great time in our high school years and after. We had a blast at our 30th High School Reunion in 2005.

In high school before Pauleen had even met Paul she told me she wanted to have eight children. And she got eight wonderful children that she loved dearly. Know that she cherished each one of you John, Jeff, Brian, Amanda, Andrea, Robert, Katie and Paul. Each time she was pregnant she'd call me and ask, Are you pregnant? and I'd say no but you are and indeed she was. And she enjoyed each pregnancy as well. Well we did connect as my daughter Jessica was born the same year as Amanda and my son Eddie the same year as Paul. I also was informed each time a new grandchild joined the family. She was very proud being a grandmother of twelve.

And if you really knew Pauleen, you knew she also had a mouth. Just kind of said what was on her mind. You won't believe how many times I'd say Pauleen! I can't believe you just said that! But what laughs and fun times we'd have.

What a loyal friend Pauleen was. She was a very loving, caring person and was always there for you. If not in person, in thought, prayer and spirit. As life has its ups and downs so did we and I'm glad we had each other to share them with and rely on each other. We considered each other as a sister. I'll miss her for the rest of my life. But I will always have her in my heart and I know she'll be waiting for me.

When we'd part or hang up the phone we wouldn't say goodbye, but love you.

So it is now that I won't say goodbye but that.. Love you Pauleen (till we meet again). Anita

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones shines down to let us know they are with us.

My Mom! Every Son that looses their Mother probably says "My Mom was the best Mom on the Planet" However, compared to my Mom, very few could even remotely compare to what this woman meant to so many people. Thank you Mom for making me who I am today!! Your personality, gentleness, and compassion have touched so many lives, and truly have made those you have had any interaction with better people for having met you!! You are Loved, and will be missed!! Love You! Always!!

Pow was a wonderful childhood friend, and always kind. We rode bikes and spent our summers in the backyard and at Greenlake. She taught me how to babysit & apply mascara, lol. She was a sweetheart. My condolences to the Ryans and her entire family.

There are no words to truly describe the understanding and commrodere we shared from the beginning when we met as teenagers. We walked through some amazing and tough times but we did it together as true sisters do. There is no one that will ever take your place in my heart and I will miss you beyond words. Acceptance, understanding, big laughs and just plain deep love that was us and always will be. My heart has a place in it with your name on it and my soul is imprinted with your voice. I will see you again sweet sister and we will laugh and dance just like we did from the beginning. I will see you everywhere and hear you in certain songs and find comfort knowing your laughing when no one else gets it! I love you. Lisa

there is something very powerful in having someone in your life who understands you, really knows you and accepts you with love, thank you for that beautiful gift. We went through a lot together but that's what true sisters do. I will miss you in ways no one else will know but you. I will see you, everywhere and feel you when I hear certain songs. You are and always will be a part of me, I tuck you onto my heart and soul until we meet again sweet sister. I love you and thank you for loving me. Lisa

I will always remember the times we had together, when she was first married to my brother and having all these sweet little babies. I spent many, many days with her and her babies down at the Ocean, loved staying with her and my brother when I was younger and helping her with the kids. Those times will never be forgotten, you were a very special lady Pauleen so glad you are now with your parents, please tell my mom I miss her...love you!!

To call her just a friend would be incorrect. She was much more than that. She was funny, smart and soulful. she always had time for other people. We spent many hours talking about our kids and grandkids and she always spoke with so much love about her children. My grandkids Lily and Tony would like to say she was sweet and kind to them all the time. I miss her so much and will never forget her. Like she said many times we were soul sisters forever. We still love you Pauleen.
