Paulette Spain Williams COLUMBIA - Paulette Spain Williams, 68, of Columbia, SC passed away on Sunday, May 13th, 2018 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife to Jerry Williams, her husband of 47 years. Paulette was born on January 20th, 1950 in Columbia, SC to Betty L. Spain and the late Paul H. Spain. She graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1968 and completed her Bachelors in Elementary Education from The University of South Carolina after that. She was a beloved elementary school teacher for over 35 years, with most of those years being at Forest Lake Elementary School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She loved reading, loved being a teacher, and loved being with her family. She will be remembered as a person who was devoted to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as her aging mother in more recent years. She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Williams; daughters, Betsy W. Neeley (Brian) and Eva (Katie) Williams; son, Matthew H. Williams; grandchildren, Evie, George, Cole and Avery; mother, Betty H. Spain; sisters, Cindy Damour (Tommy) and Sara Howard (Bill); nephews, William Ginter (Keriann) and Benjamin Damour (Melissa); nieces, Megan Hinson (William) and Aimee Newsome (Josh). She was preceded in death by her father, Paul H. Spain. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Thompson Funeral home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd., Columbia, SC, 29209.
