Bev's Mom was always kind to me. She welcomed me into their Spicewood ranch home where she served me yummy venison chili. She showed interest in my opinions when I was in Bev's wedding. She called me when we lived out of town and she was passing through town. She even joined us for a "Northern Ireland/American" St. Patrick's Day Dinner at Bev's where she met my husband.

I was always impressed by her thirst for education and continued production of her craft. But,anyone who could produce a person as amazing as her daughter Bev had to be extraordinary. I would think that was her greatest accomplishment. What a privilege it has been to know Pauline and her daughter Beverly.

So sorry to her friends and family for this loss. So sorry for those of us on the periphery.

I met Polly in Christopher Woods' writing class at the Women's Institute. I was impressed with her brilliant writing and the memories she shared with our class. She was quite a lady and I felt privileged to know her.

I met Polly when we both took writing classes at Rice University. We joined together with six other women writers and met regularly for several years. To this group, Polly brought the early pages of Wearing Genes; her stories entranced all of us. What a life! What an amazing, one-of-a-kind spirit who now gifts heaven with her calm, yet shy, sweet independent strength.
