Pauline Stahley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 16, 2025.
In February 2024, Pauline (Brinkley) Stahley, 86, died peacefully in her sleep. She had effectively managed Parkinson's disease for over 17 years. Pauline was born in Decatur, Alabama, to Arthur Bill Brinkley and Myrtle F. Roberts. She was preceded in death by brothers Charles Brinkley and Billy Brinkley and her sisters Louise Wimberley and Shirley A. Brinkley. In 2022, she also lost her son and only child, James Stahley, Jr., to the combination of COVID-19 and Legionnaires disease. She is survived by her husband, James Stahley, and daughter-in-law, Angiel Stahley.

In Huntsville. Alabama, she met the love of her life, James Stahley, Sr. They transferred to Minnesota, where they lived for 40 years. For over 59 years, they shared their lives. Pauline had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and multiple international trips. Ultimately, they moved to Florida, where she enjoyed the warm weather and the beach.

Pauline had a long and rewarding career. She was the Administrative Assistant to the Head of Finance for the Army's Missile Command. Pauline was the manager of a major health club in Burnsville, MN. She was also head coach of the Girls Tennis Team at Burnsville High School for a period. Pauline, however, never lost sight of her primary focus on her family. She helped her son develop his tennis skills. He eventually graduated from Swarthmore College, where he was named All-American in tennis and was part of the team that won the National Championship.

Her friends and family will miss her flashing blue eyes and beautiful smile.
