Dear DeBrito Family - I am unbelievably sorry to have learned of the passing of Pedro. I was lucky enough to have played with him at UConn during his first two years. Not only was he an amazing team mate, and as great a player as he was, he was an even better person. I will always have great memories of being around him in soccer and around UConn in general. God bless & R.I.P., "Chuuch"!

To the DeBrito Family,
Sorry to hear about the passing of Pedro. I hope you all take comfort in knowing many people admired him as a peron and his accomplishments which were a source of pride especially in the Cape Verdean community. He inspired many young men in the community to take their talents and use them to get higher education where before him they didn't. Again, sorry for your loss.

I want to send prayers to the family and friends of Pedro. I met Pedro when he played for the Wichita Wings here in Kansas. He was such a kind man. I worked for the club as an artist when they had the Missile Magazine and often traveled for games. Pedro was one of the guys I knew I could count on to look out for me when I was on the road. As a single woman, many of the guys acted like they were my big brother and Pedro was always looking out for me. Of course he wasn't above teasing me or playing jokes on me when he had the chance. Which was part of why he was so much fun. I recently got married and I wondered if he saw my wedding photos on Facebook. I kept thinking I needed to send him a message but time just got away from me and of course I thought I had all the time in the world to contact him. I'm just so glad I have so many wonderful memories of him to hold on to. My heart goes out to all those who are feeling this great loss.
