Peggy contacted me out of the blue over the internet some years ago about writing. It was the beginning of a remarkable friendship conducted mainly by email and I remember the wonderful moment when we actually spoke on the telephone. She was a talented writer whose promise was under-fulfilled, but she never gave up. An amazing, indomitable person who enriched my life and I hope I was an encouragement to her - I miss our friendship. [email protected]

It's been a long, long time, but I remember Ms. Hall there at Sequoyah, (1973-75). Then afterwords, after college. She was a terrific person and she will be missed greatly.

Miss Hall was my English teacher at Sequoyah, I always enjoyed her class and writing stories. Once Miss Hall drove us to town to get personal items, it was my birthday and she bought me a pop at sonic, I have always remembered that and treasure her. I did visit her at Heritage and had dinner with her. She gave me one of her books and autographed it. I will always treasure it.

Miss Hall. A treasure of a woman that inspired me at a young age to continue writing lyrics, stories and poetry. Miss Hall was my favorite teacher at Sequoyah High School 40 years ago. We continued our friendship for many years. Thank you Miss Hall for believing in me. I love you.

Peggy is the glue that binds. She was always about family. So generous, kind and caring. She even sent my son (who she only meet once at our reunion) a book every Christmas. We talked, just not often enough. Distance has a way of doing that. On one of our visits to Memphis, she introduced my brother and I to Rock & Roll, She was a teenager and we were about 5 or 6. I will always have such fond memories of this amazing woman. We are so blessed to have Peggy Jo in our lives.

Having known Peggy Jo Hall for nearly all of her life I found her to be a most gentle, generous and intelligent person. She was always a delight to be with from earliest childhood when we played together until our adult years when we discussed problems in the world. Peggy always encouraged people to do their best in a very non-critical way. She was a writer of rare talent and insight and she will be greatly missed by many. As a cousin I greatly appreciate Peggy's niece, Gina Scuderi-Cook, for making Peggy's life as comfortable as could be during her long illness.

With loving memories,

Jim Chumney
